in Devon at Lower Tideford Farm
The idea for this page is to show you a closer look at some of the wildlife that can be seen in the air and on the ground around Lower Tideford Farm. We have about a six acre area of woods and undergrowth set in a valley with a pond at the top that runs down to a stream at the bottom. This attracts and is home to quite a large selection of wildlife. From buzzards circling above during the day to badgers coming out of their setts at night

There is a barn owl or pair of owls, that live in the valley but in nine years I have only seen them three times.
They have been seen by guests on holiday however. One gentleman stayed up for several nights and was eventually rewarded. You can of course hear them, but the sight of a barn owl, the white ghost of the night is a sight you will not forget.
We have two badger setts on our land. If you have the patience to sit up at night, keep very quiet and still you may well see them. They frequently cross the drive at night.
